Proof of Plenty #1

Whether you’ve stumbled across this post on day one or you’ve been seeing these pop up for a while and wondering what Proof of Plenty means, here’s the scoop.
It’s my way of pressing pause.
Because we are all living in a world that is breeding stress, overwhelm and burnout.
It’s my way of stepping out of the habit of always looking ahead to the next goal, the next achievement, the next thing on the to-do list and taking a moment to appreciate what’s already here.
A simple practice that I’m calling Proof of Plenty.
Because plenty isn’t always found in your bank balance.
Sometimes its found in time.
In freedom…in choice…in meaningful conversations.
In a quiet moment with a matcha before the day begins.
This morning, before the heat really kicked in (there’s currently a Red Weather Warning for ridiculously high temperatures in the UK), I got my steps in, listened to a podcast that sparked some new ideas, and caught up on emails in the sunshine.
Nothing extraordinary.
But that’s the point, right?
We’re often waiting for the big moments before we allow ourselves to feel successful, grateful or fulfilled.
Yet some of the richest moments in life are the ones we barely notice because we’re already focused on what’s next.
Lately I’ve been reflecting on a simple thought:
What if I’m already standing in a life that a previous version of me hoped for?
Not every part of it, of course. There are always new goals, dreams and ambitions.
But perhaps more of it than I realise.
As we move into summer and routines begin to shift, I’m making a conscious effort to notice these moments instead of rushing through them.
This simple practice has become part of my own approach to building mental resilience. By consciously looking for evidence of what’s working, rather than focusing exclusively on problems, challenges or what’s next, we create a healthier relationship with success, achievement and wellbeing.
So if this resonates, here’s a few questions for you to ponder over:
What do you have today that you once wished for?
Where do you have more freedom of choice than you give yourself credit for?
What would change if success wasn’t only measured by what you’re striving for, but also by what you’ve already created?
What’s your Proof of Plenty today?
